Richard Schoutissen made significant contributions to the book about a hiding Jew murdered by the resistance.
On September 16, 1942, during the Second World War, a drama is taking place in the woods near Deurne. The Jewish submerged Michael Joseph is killed by the resistance. The 16-year-old boy, who sought protection from the Nazis with his family, is murdered by the people who promised to protect him. Historian Henny Brandhorst only recently knows the true story behind his father Henk Brandhorst, the resistance fighter and Jewish helper. He and his accomplice Jose Peerbooms smuggled persecuted Jewish families for a lot of money from the Netherlands.
Shortly after the war Henk Brandhorst is arrested for the murder of Michael Joseph. In s-Hertogenbosch he was in court. He was in prison for six years.
